A Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT), formerly known as a “bankruptcy trustee,” is a debt expert licensed by the federal government through the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy.
A LIT gives practical advice on debt relief solutions, such as debt consolidation, better budgeting, consumer proposals, and bankruptcy.
A LIT is the only person who can file a consumer proposal or a bankruptcy in BC. A LIT’s fees are set by federal regulation, not by the firm.
